I am a real estate agent in Metro Atlanta. I was Born In Jacmel. Jacmel is a small city in the southeastern part of Haiti. My Family Came to New York in 1991. This is my real estate story.
Queens, New York
It was in my teenage years that I was introduced to real estate. I am not sure when it began, but I can remember watching Carlton Sheets infomercial on TV in my late teens. At one point when I was 19 me, and a close friend of mine who was a few years older decided that we were going to become real estate investors. We went to a real estate school in Bayside New York. The plan was to first become agents and then learn to buy houses using creative financing techniques. Techniques that we would learn from the Carlton Sheets No money down program.
I became an agent in early 1998. I was only 19 years old. Well after showing houses to many people for a few months I could not sell anything. A few months later I got a job has a bank teller at Ridgewood Saving Bank. Getting $10/hrs in 1998 as a college student was good enough for me, so I put my real estate agent career to rest. It was surely too early for me.
I worked close to 4 years at the bank while I was in school pursuing a degree in finance at Baruch College in New York. During the years at Baruch, real estate never left my mind. convinced that Real estate was going to be in my future, I decided to take 3 real estate classes as part of my minor in Law. I took an appraisal course and the law of real estate contracts.
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Graduating in January 2001, just before “the fall of the dot coms”, and September 11. I could not find a job in New york. I quickly went back to school to secure a degree in healthcare where the jobs were. After I worked in NY for 18 months with my new healthcare career, I decided That I wanted to be in a city where I could buy real estate because real estate is too expensive. So I moved to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Again I became a licensed real estate agent in Pennsylvania in early 2006.
I Made my first sale to my cousin, a nice three bedroom brick home in Penn hills, PA, where he still live today. I went ahead and bought four small investment properties in Pennsylvania. Discouraged after the real estate crash of 2008, I left Pennsylvania in 2010.
Greenville, North Carolina
In 2010, I married the love of my live, Uduak Saint Juste and moved to Greenville North Carolina. There we bought our first home together, now an investment property.
Atlanta, Georgia
In late 2013 after moving to Metro Atlanta I discovered that real estate will not leave my mind, so I decided to focus on it. I get Licensed in early January 2014. Ready to focus on selling houses to families and investors alike.
My love for houses is natural. It started since I was a teenager. I am here in Greater Atlanta to stay and work as a real estate professional representing sellers and buyers with good care and devoted intention.
My convictions
I believe in God and I am not ready to apologize to anyone for that.
I believe in responsibility towards family.
I believe in complete respect for another’s possession.
I love the idea of a world where everyone have a chance to:
- Live
- learn
- love
- and contribute
I hate the fact that still today 300 Million children suffers from chronic hunger in the world. I think there is too much money, knowledge and technology for this to be so. That is the most unethical issue facing human society.
In Conclusion
Just to be clear, this is not a success story. This is just a few words about me. I am also a husband and a father. I am a supporter of Mary’s Meals, a nonprofit based in Dalmally, Scotland.
